Jubilee Creek is a 5-minute drive from the Cabin and a must-visit when in Knysna! 

Close Encounters with Elephants

The Knysna Elephant Park was the first facility in South Africa to take in orphaned and injured elephants. They offer day trips and close elephant encounters and we absolutely recommend a visit!

See the Knysna Heads

Either drive to the Knysna heads beach and have a walk around the beautiful area or, have a cup of coffee/ cocktail at the East Head Cafe’ which has the best view of the Heads! 

Cruise to Featherbed Nature Reserve

Featherbed Nature Reserve is based on the Western Head of Knysna and inaccessible by car. Book a cruise across the lagoon to the reserve and enjoy guided walks and buffet style lunches at the restaurant. 

Visit The Wild Oats Market

On Saturday mornings Sedfield comes alive. Make sure you get there early to experience the freshest produce, incredible food and indigenous plants for sale. 

See the Largest Motorcycle Museum

Thesen Island, the idyllic tourist hub of Knysna is home to The Motorcycle Room-  home to 100 motorcycles ranging from the 1950s to today’s modern era.

Birds of Eden

Birds of Eden’s unique two-hectare dome (the world’s largest) spans over a gorge of indigenous forest. Currently, it is home to over 3,500 birds from over 220 species, with the main focus being African birds. 

See the Daleen Matthee Memorial

One of South Africa’s most well-known authors. Her last resting place is Krisjan-se-Nek, one of her favorite spots in the Knysna Forest. Her ashes were also scattered here under giant Yellowwood trees in the peaceful and fairy-tale-like Knysna Forest.

Hunt for the Brenton Butterfly

The Brenton Butterfly is an extremely rare and very beautiful butterfly found only on Brenton in Knysna. Take a walk in the Brenton Butterfly Reserve or simply have a fun day on the gorgeous beach!

Based in the Knysna Waterfront, a Knysna local- Dry Dock is well known for awesome seafood, oysters and sushi.
